Here's the necessary disclaimer. This character is GIMMICKY as hell, and most of the augments, modifications, and otherwise are there to support said bullet slicing gimmick. While this character is gimmicky, they are also highly competent, and if a character foolishly plays into her strengths they are SURE to be punished for it, namely with her reflexes and reactions. Many of her augments serve to support her high competence, such as the tachypsychic inducer, which isn't really intended to give any direct edges or benefits in combat besides the roleplay side of things. A lot of her gear supports her mobility as well, because being a ninja is cool, and some gear has perks for detection. Without the full benefit of her brain augments, for example if they aren't corded or a link in the system is otherwise hindered, or when her strengths aren't played into or she is forced into an uncomfortable fight, Jackie is rendered merely a competent character with a strong arm. Along with that, any sufficiently high amount of technology may prove to be her bane. Oh, and, all of those nice pretty augments that are in her body? That may be subject to an uncomfortably forceful change in times to come. Some things may be upgraded with time, cause, and roleplay, which I will note below. I'll also be sure to note negative changes as well. I also encourage other players to come after her. :)

Jackie is a tall human woman of Japanese diaspora, riddled with cybernetic augments and sporting ethnic features. She stands relatively tall at 5'9", and while lithe, is considerably muscled. Her dark hair is done up in a long and high ponytail, sideburns flowing long along the sides of her more triangular face. Golden monolid eyes and a segmented right temple mark the extent of her facial modifications, her nose softly shaped and her complexion fairly light. The urchin's voice is strong, somewhat deep, and womanly, thoroughly pronounced in her foreign tongue.

Defensive Equipment
- Revealing Clothes. While Jackie lacks any kind of real defensive wear, her minimalist clothing serves to assist in mobility. The weakest of willed and the attention deficit may be distracted by her cleavage.
- Mobility Protection Boots. A pair of black boots that come up to the middle of the shin and wrap firmly around the wearer’s leg, supported at the bottom by a hard toe plate and a curved dampener running from the ball of the foot up to the back of the calf. By themselves, the boots offer enhanced speed and agility while protecting the ankles from rolling, how a good pair of spikes or cleats would. While running, the user is able to accelerate to a higher sustained speed, though the improvement is only marginal. When deployed, the boots offer protection against falls, allowing the user to land safely on a hard surface from 40 feet so long as they land properly, feet first, and take measures to mitigate the impact. The strong, curved shape of the dampener helps to mitigate the impact and allows the user to transition into a roll or other follow-up maneuver.
- Projectile Tracking Neuralink Visor. A neuralink visor that functions as both a visual aid and an external computing drive. The visor itself is primarily a predictive computer, using a combination of radar, lidar, and visual motion detection to track and path quickly moving projectiles. This information is fed directly to the brain, but the visor has several visual modes to display to the eyes, including radar, visual motion amplification, and ballistic pathing display, and offers the same modes of sight that are otherwise available to Jackie's cybernetic eyes.
Radar. Radar vision can be used to detect targets behind thin walls and who are otherwise hidden from sight. While useful for detecting hidden enemies and tracking projectiles, the displayed vision is fairly primitive, and is too blurry and unfocused to be used effectively for sight during combat.
Visual Motion Amplification. The visual motion amplification software highlights discrepancies and movement in the visual field, set to highlight subtle shifts over more noticeable ones. However, it picks up interference from things like swaying foliage and rain, making it inherently useless in a natural environment. This programming can be layered on top of other forms of vision available to Jackie.
Ballistic Pathing Display. Using a combination of radar, lidar, visual motion amplification, and predictive computing, the visor can effectively predict and trace the path of oncoming projectiles, displaying both individual bullet paths and predicted cones of fire. This information helps Jackie visualize bullets and avoid automatic fire, though she’d be hard pressed to properly dodge a bullet.
The visor interfaces with the brain through a connection port surgically installed into Jackie’s right temple, which merely appears to be segmented skin at surface level but can be shifted to reveal the port. The visor also acts as a kinetic plate, shielding the user's face from shrapnel, physical attacks, and even some small arms fire, though forceful blows are sure to damage the computer and shock the user.
Offensive Equipment
- Akuma-HB.7 ‘Demon Arm' Bionic. A hulking, stark black bionic arm with powerful twitch capabilities and a considerable range of motion. The primary mechanisms of the arm are electromagnetic linear motor actuators, powered by a power cell in the upper forearm. A set of hydraulics is secondary in movement of the arm, particularly the rotation and movement of the elbow joint. The arms features focus around its twitch capabilities, range of motion, feedback, and support.
Twitch Capabilities. Linear motor actuators in the upper arm and the wrist allow for incredibly responsive and powerful twitch movements, intended to swing and redirect the motion of held objects and the hand itself at incredible speeds within the range of motion. Rapid firing of such twitch motions is the main source of wear in the arm, and risks overheating or breaking the actuators. While the arm is capable of feats of strength and heavy exertion, said feats are incredibly taxing and will quickly lead to overheating, risking failures such as burn out, burst power transfer lines, and even demagnetization of the actuators, rendering them permanently disabled. If the user is not careful with the incredible force of the arm and directs said forces outside the range of motion of the arm, it can damage both the arm and the user, resulting in injuries such as a dislocated shoulder, shoulder instability, and even the tearing, fracturing, and breaking of supporting tendon, muscle, and bone.
Range of Motion. On top of the range of motion of a normal arm, the Akuma is constructed to allow a wider range of motion down from the shoulder. The arm can yaw slightly from above the elbow about 35 degrees in either direction, allowing for a greater range of motion independent from the body. The hand has full rotation and actuation, stemming from a cylindrical actuator housing compartment extending into the wrist and forearm. The arm lacks any locking mechanisms except for in the rotation of the wrist, meaning the arm must constantly draw power. The joint locking in the wrist allows the hand to be arrested at any angle it pleases, remaining fully functional even while facing backwards.
Feedback. While the Akuma is incapable of providing any tactile information like temperature and texture and is effectively useless when interacting with things such as tactile displays or touchscreens, it can communicate pressure, discomfort, and pain to the user, allowing for some feeling and control over grip force. The extended actuator housing in the wrist allows for an extremely powerful crushing grip, whose power and movement is transferred to the fingers via carbon nanotube filament tendons. Such a grip, of course, risks the aforementioned overheating and blowout in the face of sustained resistance.
Support. Extensive surgeries have left the Akuma attached to Jackie's body at the shoulder in a rather convoluted way as the arm has been replaced and upgraded over the years. The arm is wired into the nervous system via connections in the shoulder area, but can be bypassed with a direct cord connection to the brain. The arm itself is surgically attached, suspended by a supportive web of anchored flesh, synthetic ligaments, an artificial clavicle, and auxiliary braces across the pectoral and along the back that connect the arm to the ribcage. This setup is as convoluted and atrocious as it sounds, making replacement of the arm a painstakingly long and complex process.
The arm’s construction is a feat of Hatoyan street engineers, a blend of the finest designs and materials they could get their hands on. The Akuma is somewhat anatomical in appearance, particularly in the shells of the forearm and upper arm and especially in the shoulder, though the mechanical nature in the arm shows around the wrist and elbow. The hand itself is segmented, particularly around the joints of the fingers. Though innately heavy, the arm was made with the lightest, strongest materials possible. A high grade titanium alloy is used for the skeletal frame of the arm, prized for its low weight, high strength, and impressive temperature stability. The outer shell is sturdy and usually formed of plasteel, resistant as steel and light as plastic, but can be replaced by the user with some effort. In downtime, the shell can be replaced by an ultralight plastoid composite or left stripped completely.
As much as the Akuma-HB.7 can push its limits, when operating within the nominal bounds it can operate smoothly for many months without requiring maintenance. The arm can also act quickly and powerfully without pushing itself, leaving it a force to be reckoned with even without a link to the brain or the danger of overexertion. But, the Akuma is a devilish construct with all that entails, meant to be used to its fullest extent in exchange for the user's livelihood... - Ancestral Katana. Perhaps the most normal thing Jackie has. A durasteel bladed katana of unconventional shape, forming a shallow yet gradually increasing wedge from edge to spine and coated on the sides with a protective carbon fiber. The wedged shape helps to tumble bullets and other projectiles, though the blade is usually damaged by such acts. The katana has been passed down in Jackie's urchin clan for generations, having settled many a conflict and cut down many a thug.

Active
- Bullet Cutter. The most astounding of her abilities and the culminating function of her augments and cybernetics, Jackie is able to slice a fired bullet in two. This ability extends as well to all manner of projectile and object, including blaster bolts, arrows, thrown objects, and any other attacks that might stray her way. The effectiveness of this ability varies based on the speed of the projectile, the amount of projectiles, and her preparedness. For example, Jackie can cut only one bullet in the air from a resting sheath, and any more may overwhelm her. Insanely fast projectiles, such as chemrail and railgun rounds, can prove impossible to parry, not to mention light speed weapons like lasers. While she can cut a volley of gunfire from a fully prepared position, sustained automatic fire may prove impossible to counter completely, and trying to do so would damage her arm to disfunction. However, slow moving projectiles can be cut from the air with ease, perhaps even without the aid of her cybernetic enhancements. Arrows and bolts, for example, are easy targets for her, even from a resting sheath. This is her crowning gimmick.
- Deadly Reflex. With the ability to cut bullets from the air, Jackie can ensure an opponents first move will be their last in a melee. This has cost the lives of many opponents, and with her capabilities, it would be completely foolish to engage first at close range. Her incredible reflex and capability for reaction is her greatest strength, especially from a prepared stance. Do not test her.
- Tachypsychic Induction. A cybernetic organ attached to her kidney can, on command, release a slurry of chemicals into the blood stream in order to induce the effect of tachypsychia, slowing the user's perception of time for up to a minute, around 10 turns, but takes around twenty seconds to kick into effect, about 3 turns. The organ also has the effect of inducing an adrenaline high that lasts for a few minutes, resulting in decreased pain, increased strength, and sharpened focus in the face of threats. This allows for enhanced reaction times and faster decisive thinking. The organ functions by harvesting amounts of dopamine and norepinephrine from the blood stream, storing them to be released when the time is right. It typically takes around a day or longer to charge from empty, though can be charged sooner and more immediately with purposeful thrill or pleasure seeking, though the processing of dopamine and adrenaline is dulled in the mean time. The organ doesn't control the natural release or cycle of dopamine or norepinephrine entirely, so with a charged organ the body can still release adrenaline on its own and function normally.
General
- Astounding Reflexes. By all measures of confidence, Jackie has naturally amazing reflexes even without modifications to her body. This strength of hers is only enhanced further by her augmentations.
- Excellent Coordination. As well as possessing amazing reflexes, Jackie has excellent hand eye coordination, and is great at catching, throwing, and other similar activities. She is very in tune with her body, which helps her to perfect form and techniques and lets her pick up on physical skills more easily.
- Parkourist. Jackie is a confident and skilled parkourist, capable of navigating an urban environment in all three dimensions. This skill was attained during her time hunting thugs and targets in the Hatoya City Megaprefect, her home. Most importantly, she's capable of quick, off the cuff rolls, which help her take falls and get back onto her feet from the ground.
- Martial Arts Experience. As well as mastering her blade, Jackie is skilled in a mix of martial arts, preferring Krav Maga and Muay Thai for their defensive and offensive capabilities. This competence in hand to hand combat was attained combating groups of thugs and rival urchin clans. A proper urban ninja.

Augments
- Cybernetic Controller. A brain-interfacing computer chip that allows the user to control their cybernetic organs, quite self explanatory. It is hardened against EMPs and other electrical interference, a standard for such devices that interface with the brain. The controller has been surgically installed onto the cerebellum.
- Brain Stem Augment. This augment helps to improve reflexes, further streamlining the travel of information from the eyes to the brain stem, and from the brain stem to the cerebellum. This helps link together the path between visor and sword, further enhancing reaction times.
- Neural Jack. Another brain-interfacing device, that allows for the direct connection of the reaction and movement core of the brain to an augment or external device. This allows the user to control the connected part more immediately without having to go through the body's slow nervous system, and greatly cuts down reaction times for the connected part, typically the Akuma.
- Cybernetic Eyes. A pair of golden cybernetic eyes have been installed into Jackie's eye sockets, which grant the user new and different forms of vision. This includes magnification, full color night vision, infrared vision, and various forms of color filtering.
Magnification. The cybernetic eyes can grant up to three times image magnification in standard vision, night vision, and with color filtering.
Full Color Night Vision. Self explanatory.
Infrared Vision. A mode that allows for the visualization of heat signatures, though it is in black and white contrast. This kind of infrared vision lacks thermographic color mapping.
Color Filtering. While it may seem detrimental, various wavelengths of light can be filtered out to provide a focus on a certain color or to replicate certain forms of colorblindness for enhanced pattern recognition.
Equipment
- Connection Cord. A cord that connects the Akuma-HB.7 to the neural jack in the brain. The cord is also responsible for charging the Akuma's power cell.
- Climbing Pads. A pair of palm covering pads that help the user grip onto walls and other rough surfaces. The climbing pads strap around the fingers, palm, and wrist, and use a special material that mimics the way a spider's leg clings to the wall. These pads help Jackie climb otherwise difficult surfaces, and stick especially well to rougher surfaces.
- Translator Earbuds. A pair of earbuds that translate Common to Japanese, and vice versa. It's possible to communicate one on one with an otherwise oblivious Common speaker by sharing the buds, though Jackie prefers to let them wear both and monologue for them.
- Teleporter Beacon. A portable speaker sized orbital beacon, usually used for teleportation. The beacon works by transmitting its coordinates to a ship's telemetrics, which then hones on the signal and processes the information received in order to beam up the user. The beacon and user must remain still, usually for several minutes, to allow a passing overhead ship time to measure and calculate their position and attain a lock. This process is greatly aided by available satellite GPS networks and orbital teleporter relays; otherwise, the ship must pass within range for the beacon to work.
General
- Flawed Linguist. Jackie is fluent in Hatoyan Gutter, Japanese, and Hylonese, but speaks with a heavy Hatoyan accent, which is quite unflattering to the trained ear. Her Hatoyan accent can best be described as rough, dynamic, and stubborn, with rolled sounds and slurred words common in her speech. As well, Jackie is incapable of communicating effectively in Common.
- Peak Physical Fitness. In order to keep up with her bionic and other augments, Jackie has adopted a rigorous physical lifestyle, aided by her parkouring and combat skills. This has given her excellent cardio and a strong body for a woman. Due to her tachypsychic inducer, however, Jackie is often times unable to get the benefits of the dopamine normally released during exercise, often unable to feel the joy associated.
- Nicotine Addicted. Due to poor habits starting early in her youth, Jackie has become addicted to nicotine, and often smokes or vapes. Probably her least coolest trait.
Other
- Deal with the Devil. Everything comes with a price. Jackie's arm is no different, and in this case, she chose to deal with the devil himself. After the factory accident that left her without an arm, Jackie forewent a more standard prosthetic for a strong bionic she couldn't afford, assuming a hefty debt for her new part. Sweatshop work wouldn't cut it, and Jackie turned to a life of crime, which spiraled out of control with the first taste of violence. The grotesque extent of her augmentations left her with a heavy arm that causes serious imbalances in her body, forcing her to install more parts and measures of support as time goes on. This vicious cycle of debt, injury, and augmentation is known as hostile cyborgification, and though it continues to chew on Jackie, it has left her a highly competent killer. As it stands, this cycle will invariably be the end of her, one way or another.
- Uneducated. Jackie was never afforded any kind of quality education or scholarship, and the loss of her dominant arm in her teenage years made interfacing with technology difficult. Because of these factors, Jackie is partially illiterate in both writing and communication technology, and because of this has learned little common. While she does lack an education, she doesn't lack wisdom and street smarts, but may be more outclassed by galactic technology than she'd like to believe.
- Wanted Woman. Because of her debts, gang and clan involvement, and some high profile assassinations, Jackie is wanted by an assortment of gangs, debtors, and the law, with a priority warrant and reward for her arrest on her home nation's wanted list. Surely, there's a hefty price on her head if one can get into contact with the right people.
