Details
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 180 (200 w/ gear)
Age: 21
Coloration: Tiller's most closely related bird would be that of the Golden eagle- though his coloration varies from that. His chest / abdomen and facial highlights are a mix of goldish brown, though the rest of him his black and grey- the majority.
Avians are traditionally a weaker race than most- Though Tiller makes up for this difference through his size and strength- years of living an active, healthy, well fed life and plenty of exercise have lead helped him maintain a good deal of strength.
Defensive Equipment
None to properly speak of. He does carry a 9mm pistol with an extra magazine, though he's a pretty shit shot.
He does have a leather arm guard to protect his bow arm, but it's so thin it's pretty irrelevant.
UPDATE: Tiller is now in possession of a set of prototype bracers: Nonlethal Tasers, developed by Eli. Made of simple fabric and steel bars- with a proper power source, they deliver a debilitating 80k volts on impact/contact. Contact with electronics will likely disable said piece of equipment unless properly shielded- and as far as damage goes- likely some blistering and minor burns localized to the point of contact. It is not meant to kill and it would be hard to do so with them. Four full charges per arm- though it's reduced to one per arm if contact with any electrically conductive metallic surface. This would result in a hail of sparks and possibly flame, burning/hurting those directly nearby. Pain from this is similar to say, grease spitting on you. Unpleasant but not deadly.
He also is in possession of a crate of nonlethal grenades- Only, they're made of a thin rubber containing nothing but a light explosive and rubber balls. (Near exact copy of a real life Product- Stinger Grenades.)
He will usually carry about x2 of these.
He also is in possession of a 2ft retractable baton. Contains a charge. When extended, it activates- and if the tip specifically makes contact, a tazer- like charge is delivered.
Offensive Equipment
The goodies.
Tiller is primarily an Archer, and he primarily hunts big game. However, he does have a small variety of arrows for different or hardened targets.
Standard - These are your run-of-the-mill broad-head steel arrows, designed for big game or unarmored targets. (x15)
Explosive - These are a specialized, HE impact-detonation arrow. Their arc and their range are sharply reduced due to the added weight of the fast-burning high pressure explosive. Think about 1/4th the power of a regular hand-grenade, with dramatically less shrapnel. (x10)
Fire / 'ignition' - These are more delicate, and also the most specialized- these, much like the Explosive, have a sharply reduced range to them. Containing a small canister of a chemical not dissimilar to Napalm, it breaks on contact and soaks a localized area, being ignited by an electrical mechanism shortly before. These are unreliable. (x5)
UPDATE: Tiller is now in possession of a selection of non-lethal arrows. They go as follows. (Also designed by Eli.)
Gas: Standard carbon fiber body with a plastic yellow ball at the end. Shatters on impact, releasing a cloud of gas similar to that of tear gas. Does no skin contact damage, must be inhaled or touch the eyes directly. (x15)
Electric/Taser: Very blunted arrows with 2 needle like barbed prongs at the end. Can cause serious, if nonlethal damage, if hit in the head. Upon impact, 60k volts will stun the target for a duration of six seconds. Due to clothing, the natural resistance of flesh, and other factors, FELT voltage is more around 20k. (x15)
Venom/Needle: These arrows are the 'oh shit oh fuck' arrows for absolute fucked situations. Containing Poneratoxin, these arrows are not lethal unless an allergic reaction occurs. However, assuming they break the flesh- They deliver a toxin capable of temporary paralysis and debilitating pain. Possible medical conditions can include: extreme pain, cold sweats, nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, and even abnormal heart rhythms. If there is an Allergic reaction, it can cause Lymphadenopathy. (x15)
Tranq: These arrows are the least outlandish. Same design as the 'needle' arrows, they contain a tranquilizer similar to that used for horses or bears. He is unlikely to use these on people, keeping them for use on his actual prey. (x5)
He uses a 65lb (Draw weight) compound sighted bow capable of taking down a grizzly sized soft target.
The downsides here is that his ammunition are- well, Arrows. Ranged shots, especially with the heftier ammunition, require near perfect aim and a good dose of luck to get a good hit in, and even then, his bow is all but useless on targets armored with anything more than soft ballistic vests- even then, thick clothing or a vest greatly reduce the capability of the arrow, namely the penetration depth. They must be 'lobed' at a target- and in extreme close range, the use of a bow is unreasonable to begin with.
Not to mention, he's got a limited amount of these and they're complicated, expensive, and hard to produce.
Background:
Tiller Fletching grew up on a world not far from Avos- On the edge of the city, out near the still-wild forests and plains. He had a typical upbringing- his Psionic abilities were nurtured by his father, who put meat on the table by quite literally hunting it. Train in archery from a young age, Tiller found it to be a passion and a skill. His mother and father both instilled in him a strong set of values- The environment matters, religion matters, and respect for life matters. Trained to hunt and take big game, it became a ritual almost the same as florans- The thrill of the hunt. As he grew up, he learned to take bigger, larger game- things similar to rabbits, to deer, to elk- bears, even.
The core of who he is is a deep respect for nature. Quick kills, humane deaths, using every bit of his kill- None of it goes to waste or is unused or sold. His mother passed away due to heart complications, and his father followed quickly there after. Left with the meager family business, and a suffocating small town where everyone knew each other and his prospects for life were to be...his dad, essentially, he decided to do something drastic.
He sold the business, took the money, bought a ship, and went looking for adventure. Love, drama, liqour, danger- and even bigger more dangerous game than he grew up with, Tiller is intent on making a name for himself. He's staked all he has on getting out there and making a name for himself, and is young and inexperienced when it comes to lawless space.
