Details:
Full name: Orion Jacomie Corlenda-Buren
Age: 52 (biologically), 316 (chronologically)
Born: Port Elizabeth, Republic of South Africa on March 31st, 2103
Height: 5'8" (1.72m)
Weight: 145 lbs, 185 lbs in gear (66 - 84 kg)
Defensive Equipment
- Durasteel Cuirass, fitted with combat webbing for storage of equipment
This includes additional magazines for her carbine and pistols, zipties, and her IFAK - Durasteel Gauntlets, each with a specialized tool attachment
See offensive equipment for more details - Durasteel Greaves over leather boots. Doubles as an offensive tool- don't get stomped
The boots include a high-grip tread, magnetic soles, and retractable climbing crampons - The Skullfort (Durasteel Helmet) featuring a large, reinforced quartz-crystal visor that can withstand intense pressure, impact, and heat.
Contains a mild heads up display including basics such as a compass and thermometer, all the way up to a reasonably accurate crosshair system that aids in aiming.
Includes a motion tracker that functions up to 20 m. Does not work through walls.
HUD computers are powered by kinesis. - Synthetic High Durability Survival Cloak.
Made of fire-retardant, high strength nylon fibers, this cloak provides insulation from extreme heat and cold. - IFAK (Infantry First Aid Kit). Standard military grade first aid kit.
- A Proper Fucking Kinetic Shield
This shield effectively distributes the force of impacts evenly across its surface (being the entire body, besides hands and feet), reducing average projectiles to about the impact of a plinking round (which is, to say, quite a bit still).
It struggles against super high-velocity cartridges, but usually still reduces the projectile's velocity low enough to where it struggles to penetrate armor.
Blunt impacts such as those from melee weapons are only slightly negated, still quite effective at at least staggering.
After 5 impacts, the system enters a 3-turn cooldown to avoid overstressing, but it can be overclocked, which disables it for 5 turns, but adds another 3 hits to the charge.
Flames, plasma, lasers, or anything else that isn't a kinetic/ballistic weapon are not affected.7 - Micro-Jet Manuever Array (MJMA)
Using an array of carefully placed miniature propulsion vents, Orion can, after one turn minimum of charge up, slightly propel herself in 8 cardinal directions, as well as enhance vertical movement (enhance a jump, or 'ground-pound' from mid-air). Up to 3 turns of charge enhance movement further. Each movement will last one turn and add 50-100% extra move distance OR speed to a movement action.
Offensive Equipment
- Browning Hi-Power
A standard Browning HP chambered in 9x19 Parabellum with 15 round capacity. - Orion's shortsword
A durasteel shortsword with a steel handguard that can double as a knuckleduster. It's a sword, it cuts things. - Orion's knife
A hybrid survivalist and combat knife that can do all sorts of knife stuff. - Flamethrower gauntlet
Orion's right gauntlet has a very conspicuous nozzle on the outside (i.e away from the body) side of the gauntlet. Inside is a cerulium filled tank of a small napalm gel charge, and a pressurized air tank.
This gives her approximately 6 seconds of continuous flames burning at 1500 degrees C+ (2700F+).
Napalm is sticky and will burn even on contact with water.
It generally will not stop burning until the fuel gel sprayed on the unfortunate target runs out, or is cut off from air. This shit will burn through just about anything. Even if it can't melt your armor, it'll cook you inside of it.
The compressed air launches the gel downrange enough to where it won't torch the user before it ignites either.
The gauntlet is quick-detachable in case something ruptures. - Grappling hook gauntlet
Standard grappling hook added to the bottom of the left gauntlet. Sorta looks like a fishing reel with a protective steel cover. - Gauntlet Blade
A small, sharp steel blade embedded in the top of the left gauntlet. It can cut and stab, but can break out if hit with enough force. Not good for parrying a sword, for example
Perks
- Gunfighter
Orion shoots with remarkable precision and aptitude. She understands firearms well and can handle them with proper technique and skill from decades of usage. Her long-term experience with firearms in gunfights put her at an advantage to a younger or novice gunfighter. - Survivalist
If basic needs (food, water, warmth, shelter) can be met in some way, she can live there, and is remarkably crafty with rope and wood. - Medic
Orion would be CLS (Combat Life Saver) certified if she belonged to a particular military. She can address most trauma-related injuries with proper tools. - CQB
Orion's not been formally trained in any school of hand-to-hand fighting, but decades of mercenary work and combat teach a thing or two. - Silver Tongue
Given the opportunity, Orion can talk her way into or out of a lot, given the other party is willing to be reasonable. - Addict
Orion is a recovering alcoholic and opiod addict. This can lead to some anger and psychological issues. - Stressed Out
Orion suffers from PTSD (who doesn't these days..) which can, in some cases, lead to panic attacks or other emotional outbursts. - Abyss Starer
Orion saw the unseeable, the incomprehensible. Hell, she helped usher it forward. Even those with the strongest constitutions will start to buckle.
Miscellaneous
-Orion's got lots of scars, most noteworthy being a trio of claws tearing across from under her left eye to the right side of her chin.
-Orion's right arm from the elbow down is a black cybernetic with no special capabilities to it. Her left leg, all the way up, is a titanium cybernetic.
-She's in excellent shape and pretty muscular. Not the bodybuilder type, but actually practical type of muscle.
-Her accent is still very strong and she even remembers a few phrases in Afrikaans, mostly expletives.
-Much of Orion's proper combat experience was as a volunteer for an Apex rebel group fighting against the Miniknog. Her unit dispersed after heavy casualties. Don't ask about the war.
-Orion owns a fairly large farm, maintained and operated by a mixture of non-sentient robots and hired farmhands. The policy is "use what we need, sell what we don't", so profit margins are pretty small, but it's something.
